Melissa’s Favorite Books to Read at the Beach

filed in

It’s officially beach season in Charleston! Charleston’s beaches are so calming. The sounds of the waves, the small breeze blowing to help cool you off. It’s the perfect place to sit under an umbrella and dive into a good book. Today I’m sharing some of my favorite books to bring along to the beach – the starred books being my top recommendations from this list.

  • *** Where the Crawdad’s Sing by Delia Owens
Not only is this book set in the south, but it is also currently in production to be made into a film.
  • The Last Thing He Told Me by Laura Dave
This was the perfect easy read that got you hooked into the plot right away.
  • The Wisdom of Sundays: Life-Changing Insight from Super Soul Conversations by Oprah Winfrey
  • *** The Midnight Library by Matt Haig
This book gives a great perspective to help you appreciate your life and leave regrets behind.
  • Eat Cake by Jeanne Ray
Complete with cake recipes referenced in the book included in the appendix.
  • The Art of a Handwritten Note: A Guide to Reclaiming Civilized Communication by Margaret Shepard
  • *** The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini
This book was a page turner for me! Follow along two boys with similar upbringings with completely different paths.
  • Heart Talk by Cleo Wade
  • The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah
  • The Library Book by Susan Orlean

Whichever book you choose, enjoy!!
